The 2024/25 season was a disaster for the New York Rangers, and after bringing in Mike Sullivan early in the off-season, it appears as though more and more changes could be coming in the Big Apple.

Many expect one of or both Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad to be traded, but as of late, there's been major rumblings that Russian superstar Artemi Panarin could instead be on the way out to give the Rangers back some of the assets they've moved in the past few seasons.

Between 2021 and 2024, Panarin put up point totals of 92, 96 and 120, and while 89 in 2024/25 was a down year, this is still one of the top players in the NHL, and even at 33-years old, it's likely that he could fetch a significant return for the team.

Now, Jesse Courville-Lynch of The Athletic has addressed the possibility of Chris Drury moving Panarin in the summer, listing the Anaheim Ducks, Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings as potential landing spots for the veteran superstar.

For the Kings, a deal for Panarin would make perfect sense after they lacked offense in key points late in the season, but for the Flames or the Ducks, it makes a little less sense, as both teams need to be patient with their current rebuilds.

2025/26 will be the final season of a seven-year, $81.5 million deal with New York for Panarin, and as a result the return for him won't be as significant as it would have with term left on his current deal, but if the Rangers do look to move Panarin along with some other veterans, there will no doubt be plenty of interest in him.
