Tom Brady mulling return to football at certain point

Tom Brady could end up in New England this offseason, Patriots insider says | Fox News

Tom Brady’s legacy is set in stone as the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.

His seven Super Bowl rings and 15 Pro Bowl appearances should guarantee his status as a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he becomes eligible in 2028. Since retiring in 2022, Brady has continued to be heavily involved with football, joining Fox in 2024 as the highest-paid NFL analyst in history. He also joined the Las Vegas Raiders as a minority owner in October, and has played a key role in bringing authority figures such as head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek into the organization.

However, the desire to compete still burns bright, and Brady could be willing to put his No. 12 jersey back on one more time.

Is Brady considering one more run on a massive stage?

Due to his status as minority owner of the Raiders, Brady is ineligible to return to the NFL. However, a path to return to football did open up earlier this week, when the NFL ruled that players would be eligible to compete in flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

According to the Daily Mail, Brady could be willing to throw his hat into the ring to represent Team USA.

“He wants a Gold medal,” the report stated. “And what better way to remain the GOAT and return to the sport he loves, by helping his country win gold.

“He knows he would be able to help and excel in that environment and since his life is very much scheduled and has a tight regimen, so many things could fall into place for him around that time.”

Brady would be 50 by the time the Olympics roll around, but the non-contact nature of flag football means that there is minimal risk for injury. Not to mention, the opportunity to earn an Olympic gold medal has never been available for Brady during his playing days. Should he decide to give it one more go and lead Team USA to victory, Brady would not only cement his status as the greatest football player of all time, but also become the sport’s greatest ambassador.

A lot of things would have to go right for Brady to have even remote consideration, but it would certainly be a fun story if he gets the nod.
