Tom Sandoval reflects on the "backlash" from his split from Ariana Madix

Since the split, Ariana has moved on with fitness trainer Daniel Wai, while Tom went public with Victoria Lee Robinson in early 2024. Tom said he feels as though he's put in the work to improve himself, which includes doing guided meditation and going to therapy.

"Whether people agree with me or not, that’s on them," he said about his growth. "But it has been an extremely rough backlash, and I understand. Obviously, I want people to move on. Ariana has moved on, I’ve moved on, we're all moving on."

Though Tom got a lot of backlash from the public after splitting from Ariana, he said that things have calmed down as of late.

"I want to leave that stuff in the past. I’m sure there’s still people out there who hold on to that — I know there are — but the hate has died down for sure," he said. "Whether they’re laughing with me [or] laughing at me, at least they’re laughing, and that’s what I love."

He also doesn't believe that Ariana cares about how he was viewed on The Traitors. "I haven’t really thought about it," he said about public perception changing thanks to the Peacock series. "But I’m sure, because you know, she’s moved on, [that] she doesn’t really have [many] thoughts about it."

Ariana said just that when she spoke to People the same month.

"I don’t," Ariana responded when asked if she thinks about the split these days.

The only thing that ties the exes together is the home they bought in Valley Village in 2019.

Though Tom teased that the two would be putting the house on the market back in the fall of 2024, there is yet to be any movement.

"It’s been a process," he told Us Weekly. "It’s definitely in the works, and I’m looking forward to moving on and closing — like, really fully closing — that chapter. It’s closed in my life, but this is the only thing that’s sort of [still] there."

The Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras singer reiterated that when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier in March.

"We have not," he said when asked if the house had sold yet. "It's been a lot of work. I've been doing a lot of the heavy lifting, it's the way that it's just been. It takes a while, there's a lot of stuff."
