Much to his fellow players' visible surprise, Tom Sandoval dominated during The Traitors Season 3, Episode 8, "A B**** Is Lying."
And this wasn't the first win for Tom this season! In Episode 7, Tom was a vocal proponent in believing Boston Rob Mariano was a Traitor, and helped steer the votes at the Round Table toward his Banishment. Now, in Episode 8, Sandoval was the Mission MVP because of his musical ear.
Fans of Vanderpump Rules will know Tom's musical inclinations run deep. However, fans who are discovering his talents for the first time on The Traitors might have been genuinely shocked to see him run this challenge when he was able to match the tone of some creepy doll songs and relay them across a phone call.
Say, what? OK. First, let's back up and explain host Alan Cumming's diabolical devil-doll cabin challenge...
A (Musical) Cabin in the Woods on The Traitors
In this week's The Traitors Mission, Alan split the final 10 contestants into two groups of five. Tom was placed on the team with Ciara Miller (Summer House), Danielle Reyes (Big Brother), Lord Ivar Mounbatten (British Royal Family), and Britney Haynes (Big Brother), and they were taken into the woods to the terrifying Doll Cabin. Inside were hundreds of creepy, awful talking dolls. Some were able to sing a nursery rhyme backward. If the team could sing their melody into a phone connected to the other team, and they could repeat the song into a recording gramophone, they could try to decipher the classic nursery and if their guess was right, earn $5,000 per match up to $20,000.
Not gonna lie, the team was terrible at this challenge until Tom took it upon himself to seriously try to identify a singing doll and then transfer the ditty in tone and words to the other team. Sounding like a character out of David Lynch's Twin Peaks red room, Tom warbled — in tune! — five successful doll songs and was a huge part of why the money pot increased by a substantial $20k.
Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras
Vanderpump fans will know Tom debuted as the lead singer of The Most Extras, a nine-piece cover band, back in November 2021. They played a sold-out gig at the famous singer/songwriter club Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, and never looked back, booking an East coast tour that year.
Tom also shared with BravoTV.com that he was writing too. "I'm really excited that I have been actually working on some original music," Tom said, adding that he was working with "a really good producer" and record label. "I'm working on one song right now. I'm really excited for [people] to hear this song. It's going to be kind of, like, pop but indie."
Asked what he'd like to do with his cover band, he said, "My goal for Tom Sandoval & the MOST Extras is for people to come out and listen to their favorite songs. That's like one of my favorite things, for people to hear a song that maybe they haven't heard in a while."
Basically, we should all feel special that we got a Sandoval warm-up concert for the potential "Nursery Rhymes" cover tour.
