Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney “have a good thing going on” regarding the custody of the dogs they shared when they were married, Butters and Gordo.
Schwartz was a guest on the In Pursuit of Sassiness podcast and discussed the pups’ living sitch.
A mature decision was made:
Tom and Katie used to have 50/50 custody of the dogs. They thought, “It’s a little much for the dogs every week, taking them back and forth.”
“I’ve seen it go the other way,” began Schwartz. “Vicious custody battles over kids, but dogs, too! I didn’t know there were vicious falling outs over puppies!” He whispered, “I’m taking the dog. Scram!” he joked.
As far as Gordo and Butters, Tom explained, “I was always pretty much the primary caretaker. We both love them equally.”
“Katie is a great mom. She decided it would be best, we decided it would be best, if they just stay with me.”
“Then, Katie could come see them whenever she wants. When I leave town, have a gig, or want to travel, she’ll watch them [and] snuggle up with them.”
“We have a good thing going.”
Keeping up with the former Bubbas …
If you’re watching The Valley, Schwartz has popped up several times during season two. As one of Jax Taylor‘s few friends, it made sense for Tom to film with his new neighbor.
Tom’s also been a staple on The Valley’s After Show. Strategically, he filmed with Jax Taylor and Jesse Lally. Production knew they needed his easy-going, level-headed (consider the company here, lol) opinion to offset the two cartoon villains he filmed with.
Katie is in love with her boyfriend, Nick Martin, and stays busy going to concerts and recording her podcast, Disrespectfully.
The sandwich shop she co-owns, Something About Her, celebrated its first anniversary earlier this month.
