Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval went through a period of not speaking in the aftermath of Sandoval's affair, but it turns out the pair may be due for yet another break.
While discussing what's been happening in their friendship recently on the Vanderpump Rules After Show, Sandoval quipped he hadn't "done any mom jokes in a while," in reference to previously changing the lyrics of "Stacy's Mom" to "Schwartz's Mom" while performing with his band. To that, Schwartz joked, "I think I need another break. He's been laying it on real thick."
Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval open up about their previous falling out
Elsewhere on the After Show, Schwartz and Sandoval opened up their past drama. "I missed our stupid light-hearted banter," Schwartz said, noting that before their recent falling out, they "were kind of thriving" in their friendship. "Especially me pre-divorce. But then all of a sudden we were down ... just barely surviving. Feeling like sh-t. Confidence at an all-time low."
However, when the two weren't seeing eye-to-eye, Sandoval "didn't feel like it was serious."
"I felt like it was something that would probably result in an argument and then a make-up," he said. "We don't argue that often. We bicker with each other, but we get in fights very rarely."
During the Season 11 premiere, Schwartz opened up about the "biggest fight" he and Sandoval have had in their friendship, noting that he was left with "a lot of resentment for Tom Sandoval" after the dispute. The argument had to do with the name of their bar, Schwartz and Sandy's ... and Sandoval's actions following its opening.
"He campaigned so hard — mister marketing genius — to put that name on the side of the building," Schwartz said. "[But] when you do that, you have to hold yourself to a higher standard." After news of Sandoval's affair went public, "Schwartz and Sandy's became the scene of the crime."
Previously, at BravoCon 2023, Sandoval was asked how his friendship with Schwartz was holding up, and he said that they were "doing really well."
"I feel like we're stronger than ever,” Sandoval added. “We've always had a resilient friendship and a loving, caring friendship and yeah, we're in a good place.”
