While Tom Schwartz might be living next door to Jax Taylor on The Valley, he’s also building a house in sunny Florida — but it’s not actually for him.
“I built it for my dad,” the Vanderpump Rules alum shared during a visit to Bravo HQ where he answered fan questions during a livestreamed event for Bravo Insiders (sign up here to learn about the next one!).
Schwartz had another big update to share on the Florida construction: “It’s almost done.”
“It’s a small little house. Three bedrooms. Two bath[s]. I think it’s like 15-hundred square feet. And it’s cool,” he added.
Does Tom Schwartz have a home in Florida?
Schwartz explained that the new Florida home has been a years-long project for him.
“[It's] on this beautiful piece of property that I’ve been sitting on since 2018," he said.
He first mentioned the property during a May 2024 podcast episode of the Balancing Act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick.
"This is... [a] dream that I think is finally coming to fruition,” he said. “I have property in Florida. I'm finally gonna build a house for my family there. I have this little pond. I'm super stoked about that."
Now he’s revealing new details about the home, including the decorating style.
“It’s got a really pretty kitchen,” he said during the Bravo HQ event. “The vision was a little like Key West-style shanty, but used as a term of endearment.”
Where is Tom Schwartz's father?
Although the goal is for Schwartz’s father to move into the Florida home “any day,” Schwartz shared there’s been a setback.
“He’s actually back in the hospital right now. So, it’s sad,” Schwartz said at Bravo HQ. “It’s bittersweet because, you know, as we’re approaching a move-in date, I’m not so sure if he’s going to be able to move in.”
Schwartz first opened up about his father’s health struggles in 2023 to Rolling Stone. His father was dealing with “near-fatal blood clots,” and “almost [died] multiple times,” he told the outlet. He also revealed his father was “given a five percent chance of living at one point.”
By June 2023, he shared his father had improved on Kristen Doute’s podcast.
“He’s lucid. He’s funny. He’s got most of his mobility back. I’m so grateful to have him. I love my family,” he said.
Although his father was just hospitalized again, Schwartz told Bravo HQ he’s “OK” and “stable” right now.
