Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that Dana White will still be the lead promoter for boxing’s biggest fight after initially teasing a split.
UFC CEO White announced earlier this year that he and Alalshikh would be launching TKO Boxing later this year. Their first event was slated to be a super-fight between undisputed champions Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.
However, when Alalshikh claimed that Saudi outfit SELA would be promoting the bout instead and failed to mention White it concerned fans who expected to see the MMA supremo take to boxing. Now, it seems they have patched up their differences and have a major announcement coming tomorrow.
Turki Alalshikh insists Dana White is still promoting Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford
Following a series of questions from the media, including Bloody Elbow, at last night’s UFC 316 press conference, Dana White confirmed that he and Turki Alalshikh are still on good terms and planning to work together on Canelo-Crawford.

Alalshikh shared a clip of some of those media interactions, accompanied by the caption: “My brother Dana will promote this fight.
“It is the fight of Riyadh Season, and we have a deal with TKO to promote it and it will the biggest fight in boxing, and tomorrow I think I will tell the details and the platform and the place for this fight, me and and Dana.”
Dana White can’t remember when he last spoke to Turki Alalshikh
Despite all of these social media pleasantries, it appears that White and Alalshikh haven’t been in contact much in recent weeks. Asked by Bloody Elbow when the pair last spoke, he couldn’t recall exactly how long it had been.
“I don’t really know [what happened],” he said of a potential rift between the pair following Alalshikh’s tweets. “Listen, when we’re at work in UFC headquarters, I’m in my own little world, man. I don’t pay attention to any of that s—.
“I know what’s going on, I know what we’re doing, I don’t really pay attention to that stuff. It doesn’t matter to me… S—, I don’t even remember the last time I talked to him [Alalshikh], but we’re good. We’re very good.”
