Vanderpump Rules Alum Kristen Doute Is Pregnant, Expecting Baby With Fiancé Luke Broderick
Raise a glass to Kristen Doute’s mom era.
The Valley star and fiancé Luke Brodrick welcomed a baby girl named Kaia Lily on June 11.
“She’s here, and we still can’t believe it. Luke is even hotter as a dad, and I just feel so lucky,” Kristen told Us Weekly June 13. “And even though I haven’t slept or showered in two days, seeing our daughter and finally being able to hold her makes it all worth it. We’re completely overwhelmed with love and so grateful for her—our lives are already changed completely.”
They chose their daughter's name—Hawaiian for “the sea"—based on their love for the state in which they got engaged.
“We knew we wanted our baby name to have something to do, or revolve around, water,” she told the outlet. “Lillies are my favorite flower. They’re associated with new beginnings, beauty, and also the name Lily indicates a ‘gentle and compassionate nature, suggesting a kind and caring personality.'”
In November, Kristen, who has been open about experiencing a miscarriage in 2023, shared she was pregnant while giving insight into her fertility journey.
“After our pregnancy loss last year,” the 40-year-old explained to People. “We decided to start trying in early 2024. I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”
"In late summer,” Kristen, who started dating Luke in 2022, added. “We decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what could be the next step if we decided to go that route. The next month was a whirlwind—getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI.”
And so it was a dream come true for the Vanderpump Rules alum to see her positive test.

“To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test,” Kristen explained. “Two weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT results staring back at me.”
After all, she had been preparing herself and Luke for their journey to take longer.
“I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous,” she continued. “The second I told Luke, he wasn’t surprised, but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not). He was joyful and beyond excited, to say the least!”
As for another surprise, well, that was learning they were having a baby girl as Kristen admitted, “I was so convinced we were having a boy.”
And while Kristen has been taking fans along for the ride amid her pregnancy journey, the always-candid reality star previously shared insight into her experience with pregnancy loss, and the community she had around her to help her through the heartache.
“I know so many women have been through this,” she explained on her and Luke’s Sex, Love, and What Else Matters podcast in November 2023. “It’s really f--king terrifying because you always think, ‘What’s wrong, what did I do wrong? Could I have done something different?’ And my doctor and my friends have told me, inside and out, up and down, there’s no cause. They don’t know why.”

Kristen and Luke aren’t just starting a new chapter as parents, they’ll also soon enter their newlywed chapter as the couple of almost three years got engaged in September during a trip to Hawaii.
“I knew from the moment we met that Luke was my person,” Kristen told Us Weekly in an interview published in September. “I’m so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiancés.”
