“Vanderpump Rules” personality Scheana Shay discussed taking steps to expand her family.
During the April 14 episode of “The Valley” star Michelle Sanei’s podcast, “In Pursuit of Sassiness,” Shay shared she and her husband, Brock Davies, are planning on giving their daughter, Summer, 3, a younger sibling. She said that she and Davies intend to fertilize her frozen eggs.
“We have taken one baby step — honestly, it’s kind of a big step for me, but we got Brock’s sperm tested. And he picked up my frozen eggs last week from the old facility and transported them to my doctor’s new facility,” said Shay during the podcast episode.
Shay also said she was concerned that she and her husband may end up with “like three or more perfect embryos.”
“I could potentially in a year or two be convinced to do twins — to put two in a surrogate. And see what happens. However, if there are three or more, like, how am I going to pick one or two?” said Shay.
Scheana Shay Says She Would Likely Use a Surrogate for Her Next Child
While recording the “In Pursuit of Sassiness” podcast, Shay stated that she will likely be using a surrogate for her next child. She explained that she will soon be 40-years-old and suffered from HELLP (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets) syndrome after she had Summer.
“They had to transfer me to the high risk ICU. It was really scary,” said Shay. “So a high chance of miscarriage and HELLP Syndrome again, if I were to try and get pregnant in my 40s. And I just don’t want to take that chance. I don’t want to have to have a C-section, deliver early, worry that the baby’s lungs aren’t fully developed, worry that I’m going to have another pregnancy loss. There are just too many things that could go wrong that I’m not willing to chance.”
BravoTV.com reported that in an April 2025 episode of “The Valley After Show,” Shay said she has “to go the surrogacy route” if she wants another child. In addition, Davies explained why he wanted Summer to have a younger sibling.
“I think we do a great job with Summer, I think she’s an amazing kid. I would be more than happy to expand this family. Not just for my selfish reasons; I want Summer to have a sibling going through life with,” said Davies during the interview.
Davies has an estranged relationship with his two older children, Winter and Eli, whom he shares with his ex-wife.
Scheana Shay Celebrated Her Daughter’s Birthday in August 2024
Shay celebrated her daughter’s third birthday in August 2024. In honor of Summer’s birthday, Shay took to Instagram to share two pictures of her daughter.
In the caption of the August 22 Instagram upload, Shay described her daughter as her “everything” and her “world.” She also referenced that she conceived Summer about a year after she had a miscarriage.

YOU were the reason! I always had a feeling the first baby was a boy and I genuinely believe he is watching over us and paved the way for you to enter this world. I love you Summer Moon. Happy National Rainbow Baby day! 🌈,” continued Shay in the post’s caption.
