The former star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Vicki Gunvalson, gave fans an update on her status on the show.
During an appearance on Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM show on May 16, a fan asked if Gunvalson will make an appearance during “RHOC” season 19.
“The answer is no. They never called me,” she replied. Gunvalson shared that she didn’t film a scene with the cast at all, which she said was “very rare.”
“I usually come in and do something. If not full-time, I’m doing something,” the insurance agent said.
Gunvalson speculated that her absence from season 19 was because of her “Dark Side of Reality TV” interview in 2024, during which she reflected on being filmed upon learning of her mom’s passing.
“They gave me an authorization, ‘Can we air this?’ and I said, ‘No,'” she explained of her season 10 episode. “My family doesn’t want to see that.”
Gunvalson Is Still Grateful for Her ‘RHOC’ Days
Despite not getting called back for “RHOC” season 19, Gunvalson shared her appreciation for the show that put her on the reality television map.
“19 years .. and I still don’t want to get old. Can you believe today marks 19 years since the first episode of #rhoc??? Thank you @bravoandy @bravotv @evolutionusa .. where does the time go?” she posted on March 21.
Along with Gunvalson, the throwback picture included original cast members Jeana Keough, Jo De La Rosa, Kimberly Bryant, and Lauri Peterson.
Gretchen Rossi, who first appeared in season 4 and will be making her comeback in season 19, wrote, “Wow! 19yrs! It’s hard to believe! Thanks for paving the way my friend!”
“RHOC” star Emily Simpson shared, “Thank you for pioneering our way.”
A fan replied, “These OG Queens don’t get enough respect for their contributions to pop culture. Legends.”
‘RHOC’ Fans Want Gunvalson Back on the Show
After Gunvalson was let go from “RHOC” ahead of season 15, she returned as a “friend” in seasons 17 and 18.
The mom of two made an appearance during season 18’s “Traitors” episode and fans were all for it. “VICKI IS DESPERATELY NEEDED!!!” a viewer wrote on Bravo’s August 2024 Instagram post.
Another shared, “Justice for Vicki. Bring her back.”
A Reddit user shared in September 2024, “I did a RHOC re-watch this summer… I have a whole new appreciation for that woman. She is reality tv gold and I would love to see her back. Would REALLY LOVE to see her either a) find a non-terrible man, or b) finally celebrate her autonomy as a Lady who works.”
One Gunvalson fan wrote, “I love Vicki. I don’t care what people say. She’s funny and not afraid to be herself. She is so entertaining without meaning to be.”
