In a tender reveal that caught fans off guard, Love Is Blind couple AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland are opening up about their most personal hope as they prepare to welcome their first child: they’re both quietly wishing for a baby girl.
Though the couple has chosen to wait until birth to learn the baby’s gender, AD recently shared that she and Ollie already have a soft spot for the idea of raising a daughter — and the reason? It goes far deeper than just picking out pink onesies.
“There’s a story Ollie told me on our second date that’s stayed with me ever since,” AD confessed. “He said if he ever had a daughter, he’d want her to feel safe enough to tell him anything — even if it broke his heart.”
“That’s When I Knew He’d Be a Good Dad”
For AD, that moment wasn’t just sweet — it was defining. Coming from a complicated family past herself, the idea of creating a nurturing, emotionally safe home resonated deeply.
“I grew up thinking I had to earn love. But watching Ollie talk about fatherhood so gently, so openly — it healed something in me.”
She paused, getting emotional. “I think a daughter would bring out a whole new side of both of us. And I’d love to see the world through her eyes.”
A Baby Without a Label — But With a Lot of Love Waiting
Even though they haven’t chosen to learn the sex of the baby yet, the couple is already dreaming big: tea parties, soccer games, dance recitals, or mud pies — whatever this baby brings, they’re ready.
“Boy or girl, we just want to raise a kind human,” Ollie added. “But if we end up with a little girl… let’s just say we already have her name picked out.”
For now, AD and Ollie are soaking in every moment — the quiet, the chaos, and the thrill of becoming parents. But one thing’s for sure: this baby, whoever they are, is already deeply loved.
