“We Owe It All to You!”: See the Heartwarming Way Katie & Ariana Were Celebrated by Their Sandwich Shop Staff

Almost a year after opening Something About Her sandwich shop, Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, and their restaurant staff are celebrating what makes the place great. 

"Here’s to the women who lift each other up—one sandwich at a time," the caption of a recent Instagram post from the Something About Her Instagram page read. "Happy International Women’s Day!" 

The first snapshot showed the Vanderpump Rules alums at their restaurant, looking fabulous, of course. The next few images showed more behind-the-scenes views of the ladies at their establishment, along with the Something About Her team posing, working, and enjoying other events at the eatery.

To cap off the honor of women, the team ended the photo carousel with a shot of Katie's mom, Terri Maloney, Stassi Schroder's mom, Dayna Schroeder, and Brittany Cartwright's mom, Sherri Cartwright. 

Ariana Madix teases the expansion of Something About Her 

In addition to honoring their staff and business wins, Katie and Ariana have been actively working on expanding Something About Her.

In a recent interview with People StyleWatch, Ariana teased some exciting updates, saying she and Katie have "lots of things in the works."

Speaking about their venture, Ariana shared, “It’s been really fun,” adding that one of the highlights has been meeting the guests who come into the restaurant. She also revealed that she and Katie plan to host more events, like their recently introduced tea parties, creating even more ways to engage with their community.

The Chicago star also hinted that there may be more on the horizon for their growing brand, noting that they’re open to opening a new location—if the “right investor” comes along. The future definitely looks promising for Something About Her!

Ariana Madix reflects the journey of her and Katie Maloney's sandwich shop 

Although Ariana and Katie first announced their plans to open a sandwich shop in Vanderpump Rules Season 9 back in 2022, the business didn’t officially open until two years later.

The delay, as Ariana explained in an April 2024 interview with E! News, was due to numerous construction and permit issues. “We had to rip out an entire patio,” she shared. “So we’ve had to get a whole new awning made, we’ve had to get new permits for that, [and] that took forever. Public Works and Safety, they just — talk to them. I’ll give you their phone number if you want to talk to them and ask [what the hold up is].”

Despite the challenges, the sandwich shop officially opened in May 2024 and appears to be thriving. During the grand opening, Ariana told The Daily Dish, “I’m really glad we went through a detailed planning process… I think us being able to roll with the punches… and stay committed to it, I think that’s how we were able to get to this point.”
