“We’re Taking It One Day at a Time”: DWTS’ Derek Hough and Wife Hayley Erbert Step Out Together After Family Health Crisis

Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert were out and about for a special summertime event in Los Angeles over the weekend.

On Sunday, June 22, the couple hit the red carpet for the MPTF NextGen Annual Summer Party fundraiser, held at The Aster hotel in Hollywood, where they both stepped out looking absolutely radiant.

Hough was dressed in a light blue suit for the outing on Sunday, leaving his jacket unbuttoned to reveal the fitted white T-shirt he was wearing underneath. The Dancing with the Stars judge also added a pair of black dress shoes and a simple silver chain necklace.

As for his wife, Erbert was dressed in a black high-low style dress, which featured a white polka dot pattern and some ruffling details along the bodice. She was also sporting a pair of strappy black heels to go with the look, while her short, dark hair was styled in a sleek middle part.

The outing comes just weeks after the two professional dancers were dealing with a scary family health situation, when Erbert's stepdad Jim had to undergo a "high-risk" surgery to remove a large tumor and other cancerous cells from his torso.

Erbert posted on social media at the time, telling her followers that her family "could use every prayer" as Jim prepared for surgery. A few days later, the family shared an update to let fans know that the surgery went well and that Jim was getting "stronger every day."

Erbert, who dealt with her own life-threatening health scare in late 2023, thanked fans for "all the thoughts, prayers, love, etc.," via Instagram at the time, while sharing a link to her mother's post that went into more detail about the surgery and Jim's healing journey ahead.
