Love Is Blind season 7 included an engagement between Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski that left fans with more questions than answers.
The latest installment of the Netflix series followed 29 singles from Washington, D.C., through a social dating experiment to find out if love is blind, including Leo and Brittany. The pair quickly connected before getting caught in a love triangle as Leo wavered between Brittany, his “person,” and Hannah Jiles, his “twin flame.”
After Hannah told him that she was choosing Nick Dorka, Leo declared that Brittany was “who [he] always wanted” — and the pair got engaged shortly after. “You want to feel like that other person is home, and she felt like a home,” Leo told PEOPLE in October 2024.
However, meeting in person turned out to be awkward, as Brittany was unable to say “I love you” back to Leo. While the other engaged couples jetted off to Cabo, Mexico, a title card read that they weren’t asked to continue their journey on-screen.
Instead, producers revealed they took their own trip to Miami — and soon broke off their engagement — leaving fans in the dark about what took place in between.
So what happened to Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski after Love Is Blind? Here’s everything to know about their engagement, breakup and where they stand today.
What went on between Leo and Brittany in the pods?
Leo and Brittany immediately hit it off in the pods, and by episode 2, he expressed he was falling for her.
“You’ll be forever seared into my memory,” he told her after revealing he had developed a crush.
Leo, an art dealer, became known for talking about his job and financial status, but told PEOPLE that he and Brittany, an esthetician, “really didn’t talk about it that much.”
Instead, they discussed future vacation adventures, baby names — and Leo’s love triangle. He also had a connection with Hannah, who ultimately chose Nick.
While Leo and Hannah sorted out their feelings, Brittany was caught in the crossfire and needed time to forgive him before allowing him to propose.
“Obviously everyone knows what happened between you and Hannah," Brittany told him in the pods. "When I saw all the girls this morning, I feel like they think I’m settling for you or that I’m just fine being your second choice."
Did Leo and Brittany get engaged?
Leo eventually proposed to Brittany in the pods and got down on one knee a second time when they met face-to-face. But while Leo was open about his feelings, Brittany held back in saying, “I love you.”
Shortly after, she got candid about the moment during a confessional. “Oh god, what have I done?” she said.
Brittany told PEOPLE after the first batch of episodes aired that she “felt every single human emotion possible” during their initial reveal, including an immediate gut feeling that things weren’t right.
“It was an energy thing. I just didn't feel the things that you would think that you would feel when you're getting proposed to, despite having such a strong connection,” she added.
Brittany continued, “I do think he's a very attractive guy and he has such a very strong magnetic presence in person when you're next to him, which I adore, but it was just an intuition. It was solely just, ‘This isn't my husband and now I've got to figure this out.’ ”
Why didn’t Leo and Brittany go to Mexico?
Shortly after their engagement, a title card revealed that Leo and Brittany were not among the six couples chosen by producers to continue their journey in Mexico.
Creator and executive producer Chris Coelen told Varietythat it was a budgeting decision, and following six couples post-pods was already a “stretch.”
As for choosing which couple would be cut, Coelen said it was based on who seemed “most authentically likely to actually be at the altar and say ‘I do.’ ”
“We felt, at the time, that the six couples we did end up following were the ones that felt more, on a gut level, had a real shot to say ‘I do’ — that they were really invested in saying ‘I do,’ " he explained. "The couple that I think we felt least likely to do that were Leo and Brittany."
Leo admitted to PEOPLE that he was “totally crushed” when he learned that they wouldn’t be joining the rest of the contestants in Cabo.
Brittany added, “I was definitely disappointed because you build such a strong relationship with everyone on the show, all the girls, so of course not filming and being with them and having fun was something to be sad about.”
“But I knew we were the weakest link. Let's just be honest, I was the only one that didn't say, ‘I love you’ back to the person I was engaged to, so I was not surprised,” she shared.
Why did Leo and Brittany break up?
As the show revealed in a title card, the engaged couple went off to Miami when their filming wrapped and broke up by the end of the trip.
“Although we had an amazing time, we just decided that we didn’t see ourselves really proceeding with a full engagement leading to marriage and we’re just better off as friends,” Leo told PEOPLE.
Brittany added that “the physical connection just simply wasn’t there, honestly.”
The pair admitted to PEOPLE that the breakup was mutual.
“It was a very clean, respectful realization,” Brittany said. “He’s just not my person.”
Who got married in Love Is Blind season 7?
Two of the six engaged couples who went to Mexico ended up exchanging wedding vows: Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis, as well as Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans.
"To find the connections that we found in the pods, to find that feeling that I hadn't felt before and I never thought I would find, that magnetic connection we talked about, and to have that buoyed by seeing you," Garrett told Taylor in his vows.
He continued, "I did not think it was possible to feel this way, finding a partner that I think is just so perfectly matched for me. You mean the world to me, and I promise to always be there for you."
In Ashley’s vows to Tyler, she said, “I've never felt a love this pure, yet fierce. I feel like we can do anything in life as long as we have each other. I feel like I'm living my own fairytale. You're my soulmate, I think the Lord created you just for me.”
