What Happened To Kathryn Dennis After Southern Charm Season 8?

Kathryn Dennis had a rough time on Southern Charm seasons 7 and 8, even after the show, despite some recent good luck she had. Right before leaving the show, she had the love of her boyfriend, Chleb Ravenell, and the support of her friends and family. Even though it took Kathryn a while to understand why everyone was upset with her racially insensitive past, she did realize her white privilege and promised to do better in the future. It seems as though season 7 allowed Kathryn to become a better person.

Southern Charm season 7 centered around the COVID-19 pandemic and how the cast was dealing with it. As the season progressed, viewers saw some castmates contract the virus, the breakup of Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy, and Kathryn's racially insensitive past. Then, during Southern Charm season 8, Kathryn's progress from the season before went down the drain. She and her boyfriend Chleb fought all the time and even broke up while filming season 8. Kathryn also stopped showing up for filming and even missed a cast trip. This led to Southern Charm season 8 being Kathryn's final season.

Kathryn Broke Up With Chleb Ravenell

They Ended Things During Season 8

After Kathryn exited Southern Charm, the now 32-year-old officially broke up with Chleb. The couple initially broke up because Kathryn thought Chleb was emotionally unavailable; however, the two rekindled their romance, which was shown on Southern Charm season 8. However, after Chleb had a heart-to-heart with Naomie Olindo regarding his relationship, Kathryn felt disrespected as Namonie was her enemy. Kathryn realized Chleb wasn't the man she wanted to be with, and the two ended things for good. As of 2024, Kathryn is currently not in a relationship that is known to the public.

Kathryn Had Custody Issues

Thomas Has Sole Custody

With her relationship over, Kathryn focused on being a mother. However, that quickly changed when Kathryn began having issues with her ex, Thomas Ravenel, again. The reality star lost custody of her two children, Kensie and Saint, a couple of weeks after Thomas filed for a temporary custody order. A year after they settled their custody battle, Thomas temporarily regained primary custody of their kids (via People).

Kathryn was only allowed supervised weekend visitations. The former couple agreed to a joint custody agreement after Kathryn had primary custody following Thomas' arrest when he was charged with assault and battery. At the same time, their former nanny also accused Thomas of forcible sexual assault. The reason behind the custody change has not been revealed due to the case being sealed.

Then, in January 2023, Thomas was awarded sole custody of their two kids after a lengthy legal battle, according to an interview he did with All About The Tea. Kathryn still sees their kids, but Thomas makes the parenting decisions. Kathryn is allegedly only allowed to see Kensie and Saint every other weekend between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. It's unclear if Kathyrn and Thomas have since changed their custody agreement.

Kathryn's Had A Run-In With The Law

She Got A DUI

Kathryn had legal issues following her Southern Charm exit. In May, Kathryn was arrested for a DUI after a three-car collision in Goose Creek, South Carolina, according to Page Six. The police officers who found Kathyrn said she had "glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person." The former reality star also had an open container; however, they didn't specify what the contained was. A couple of weeks after her arrest, Kathryn took to Instagram to reflect on how precious life is, indirectly talking about her arrest. She said,

"You can literally be here today and gone tomorrow [...] Be grateful, be humble, be appreciative, be kind, be loving."

What's Kathryn Up To In 2024?

She's Focused On Her Kids & Her Well Being

In 2024, Kathryn has had her ups and downs. While she received a DUI, Kathryn is trying to be a better person for herself and her kids. In June, the former Southern Charm star got to spend time with her daughter, Kenise, walking their dog right before she had to leave for summer camp. Kathryn also watched her son Saint's flag football game in May and cheered him on from the sidelines. Other than spending time with her kids, Kathryn is focused on being the best version of herself by working on her inner peach and self-worth.

Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
