Who the Eagles turn to with starting CB Isaiah Rodgers ruled out vs. Packers

The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out more than linebacker Devin White (ankle) for Friday's international game against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.

In addition to White, starting cornerback Isaiah Rodgers will also be sidelined due to a hand injury that limited him at practice all week.

Rodgers, who returned this spring following a one-year gambling suspension, put on a strong offseason and preseason performance to win the starting job opposite Darius Slay.

But with Rodgers out, the Eagles should be in good hands with their other options.

Second-year cornerback Kelee Ringo or rookie Quinyon Mitchell could slide into or starting role depending on whether or not Vic Fangio wants Mitchell at nickel.

Ringo would make the most sense since he had experience as a starter last fall at outside cornerback and is coming off an outstanding preseason where he almost beat out Rodgers.

As a rookie, Ringo played in all 17 games with four starts where he recorded one interception, one sack, 21 tackles, and two pass breakups.

However, Mitchell has settled into his versatile role at the NFL level quite nicely, so if the Eagles do want to use him outside then they could put Avonte Maddox in the slot since Cooper DeJean still needs time adjusting.

Just know that whatever Fangio cooks up in the secondary, it will be a lot better than what the Eagles dealt with in 2023.
