No one likes to see the Real Housewives of Orange County’s mom and dad fight. So when Terry Dubrow and Heather Dubrow have their once-in-a-blue-moon scuffle, viewers feel a little queasy. The duo have been married for 25 years, which is no small feat. After being set up on a blind date in 1996 at the Ivy at the Shore in Santa Monica, California, both knew they were a match made in heaven. This latest fight is just a bump in the road for the couple, who still remain one of the best Bravo marriages to date.
Heather Dubrow disapproves of being chastised on screen
During Episode 12 of the Real Housewives of Orange County, fans watched the Dubrows go to the doctor. Terry has been suffering from a deviated septum, and it is costing his bride her beauty sleep. But before he can go under the knife, Terry needs an echocardiogram to ensure he is in tip-top health. While in the waiting room, Heather opens up about the prior evening and the fight she had with Emily Simpson over the ill-fated black size 12 dress. As usual, Terry actively listens to all the drama and often hands out some good advice so his wife can move forward with the group of ladies. But this time, the power couple seemed to be on two different sides.
Heather shared that after last year, she had been “steadfast” in trying to figure out who her true friends were. Terry, who arguably knows his wife better than anyone, noted, “You have a process that you need to go through when you’ve had a challenge with somebody. You need to hash it out. Once, twice, three times to ad nauseam.” But Heather became defensive, saying, “By the way, we don’t hash things out three times ad nauseam. You’re just being mean now.” The conversation took a left turn as Terry asked, “Okay, should I just stop talking?” after Heather shut him down.

Heather and Terry Dubrow are couple goals
At that moment, even producers could tell that the scene had become unbearable. Terry continued, “Let’s go. I don’t want to talk about it. When you start to talk over me, I don’t want to have a conversation with you.” Before Bravo cameras could detect the issues, Heather pulled Terry into a room to get a quick word. Heather told her husband, “You can’t say that. Don’t admonish me on camera. Don’t do that. I don’t like that.”
Even though the tiff was uncomfortable for some, it showed that Terry and Heather are decent communicators. You rarely see a Bravo couple address what has angered them at the moment, let alone watch the pair talk it out to come to a resolution. Terry has never once wavered in his support when it comes to filming the Real Housewives of Orange County. In fact, he often seems eager to get in front of the cameras and put his wife in the spotlight. Both have a healthy sense of respect for one another that never allows their egos to grow out of control.
Heather and Terry Dubrow are stronger than ever
One reality TV argument does not make a divorce. Terry and Heather are a really good, solid unit. Even though Heather might want to protect her image on RHOC, the bigger picture is that she is trying to protect her entire family from any backlash. The scene from this week’s episode might be the best husband/wife scene ever to grace reality TV. And I don’t believe Terry is being cruel. I think his goal was to point out a character flaw with Heather in hopes it would be addressed.
Aside from being two iconic reality TV stars, the couple share how to have a supportive relationship. This trait was passed on to their four children. Season 18 shows both parents standing by their kids, as three are part of the LGBTQ community. Both work hard to change the stigmas and show love is love. They have also said that they are grateful to have realized that they needed each other early on in their courtship. And even if they still argue over silly things, Heather and Terry don’t seem like a force that can be pulled apart.
