For many, Paige DeSorbo is a Bravo icon. The Summer House star is fierce and independent, and wasn’t willing to go down with the ship when it came to her relationship with Craig Conover. As the months have passed since their split, Paige is diving into their issue, sharing that she never really thinks that the Sewing Down South founder understood her to the core. Here’s what we know.
What happened between Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo?
In December 2024, Summer House fans learned that Paige and Craig’s romance had come to an end. At first, it seemed like the pair were in agreement about the breakup. Both wanted different life goals, with Paige sharing that she had to put herself first. However, things started to get messy when rumors were whispered that she might have cheated. Instead of defending her honor, Craig fed into the rumors with cryptic posts and interviews. It was clear he didn’t like that she was more successful and often thought of herself as the breadwinner of the family.
Deep down, Paige was worried that Craig wouldn’t like her answers to a lot of life’s questions. During the Summer House After Show, Paige explained, “Looking back on it now, probably from the jump, did we have great communication? Probably not. I think Craig very much gave me like the … because I am more straightforward and stern, and I don’t sugarcoat as much, it was like, ‘You’re harsh.’ So I would kind of have to stay quieter when he would voice his opinions because he would always take it as a personal attack.”

Paige DeSorbo doesn’t think Craig Conover understood her at all
It’s hard when you realize that your supposedly life partner might not embrace who you are as a being. But this was one of the issues Paige had to come to terms with. Paige has a hypothesis when it comes to Craig and her exes. According to the podcaster, she wasn’t surprised when Craig started dating Natalie Buffett, who is blonde. “I’m not kidding: Every guy I’ve ever dated, I feel like, immediately dates a blonde after. And I’m like, ‘Oh, you didn’t get me at all,” she shared. According to the fashionista, this move “solidified” why the former couple were not meant to work out.
She added, “I kind of like it, cause I’m like, ‘Oh yeah … We weren’t for each other. We didn’t mesh.’” It was clear Paige was insinuating that while blondes have more fun, a brunette might have more drive. Listen, I’m blonde and I’m not offended. The trend brought her back to her model days as she shared, “When I was modeling and if I didn’t get a certain job … if I were to ever ask my mom like, ‘Hey, did I like book that commercial or did I book whatever?’ And she would say, ‘No, they went with a blonde.’”
Paige DeSorbo noticed a pattern with Craig Conover
“In my head it would register as like, ‘Oh, well I’m not blonde so, like, I didn’t even compete against that girl.’” Paige has dozens of stories that have her losing out to blonde women. She shared another one that has stuck with her over the years. “When I was younger, my dad owned a car wash. And one day, me and my mom went to this car wash, and he had candy on the side of the car wash, and he would give it to little kids, and one day I saw my dad talking to this little girl … [who was] with her mom,” said Paige. “My dad’s talking to this little girl, and I guess I had just never seen my dad interact with a child other than myself. So I was, as you can imagine, taken aback. And I was like, ‘Who is that girl?’”
According to the Summer House star, “It truly traumatized me. I don’t know if I thought my dad was going to go with this little girl and be her dad or what I cooked up in my head, but like it’s deep-rooted, my thing with blondes.” I think it’s safe to say that Paige won’t be dyeing her hair anytime soon.
Summer House is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
