After leaving the Real Housewives of Atlanta after Season 13, it felt like a lot started to happen in Porsha Williams‘ life. Bravo fans woke up one morning to literally find her engaged to Simon Guobadia, Falynn Pina’s ex. The craziest thing seemed to be that Porsha and Falynn were friends while on the series. While it felt like the girl code might have been broken, Porsha denied any wrongdoing. Now that the peach is back in the ATL, it seems fitting that Porsha gives fans a full explanation of what really went down.
What were the rumors between Porsha Williams and Falynn Pina about?
Initially, the word on the curb was that Porsha met Simon and Falynn through Dennis McKinley. Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers then watched as Falynn and Simon’s relationship seemingly fell apart. At the time, the blame was put on Falynn for allegedly cheating on the African businessman. In April 2021, Falynn announced her divorce from Simon after five years of marriage. And in May 2021 Porsha and Simon announced their engagement. I know nobody likes to talk about the timeline – but we have to for the sake of this article.
At the time, Falynn noted in an interview that she found out the news “The same time as everyone else. I did not know. As a matter of fact, I remember receiving a phone call around 8 a.m. that morning when everything started making headlines.” She noted a couple of friends asked if the announcement was true. And at the time, Falynn said, “No. My husband is a lot of things, but he would never do that to me. That is just not who he is. And they said, ‘Are you sure?'” However, the engagement news was later confirmed.

Simon Guobadia accused his ex-wife of cheating
As Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are learning, Simon has an MO after he divorces his wives. The businessman likes to accuse his former lovers of cheating. When asked if she had ever cheated during her marriage, she told followers, “No. I never cheated on my husband. You know, I’ll say this. Simon and I are not new to couples therapy. And during one of our therapy sessions, I will never forget it, I’ve never forgotten it, actually, the therapist had asked him, ‘Have you ever cheated on Falynn? Or would you ever cheat on Falynn?”
At the time, Falynn did share a story about their couple’s therapy session. Simon was asked if he ever cheated. “And his response was this, ‘Simon doesn’t get caught unless Simon wants to be caught.’ And those words have stuck with me ever since … When it came to my marriage, like most women, I was very tenacious. I worked d*mn hard to keep my marriage,” noted Falynn. Now viewers will be getting a bird’s eye view of how he will be treating Porsha, and there already seem to be some similarities.
Porsha was all set to make her triumphant return to the Real Housewives of Atlanta as Mrs. Guobadia, but she filed for divorce in February 2024 instead. During their marriage, Porsha shared her story in a now-deleted post via Us Weekly: “For all of you that need facts, I get the optics, but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them. Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives.”
But many feel a better explanation is needed. It doesn’t help that Falynn has changed her story over the last three years. She now claims that Porsha was a home wrecker and got with Simon while they were still husband and wife. Bravo cameras weren’t around to pick up every single detail, and it is now up to Porsha to fill fans in. There are a lot of unanswered questions, and even though Simon tried to legally silence Porsha from speaking out on the series, she won that court battle. So, I say it is high time Porsha set the record straight.
