After a scoreless first period, it looked like the Wild could get a big game out of Marc-Andre Fleury between the pipes. A pair of second-period Boston goals from Charlie McAvoy and Trent Frederic gave the Bruins a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Boston added one more empty net goal to make things 3-0 on the final score. Minnesota now drops to 31-19-4 following a five-game road trip.

On the box score, it was tied 34-34 in total shots, Minnesota led 14-13 in hits and it was an even 30-30 in faceoffs won. A pair of defensive lapses were ultimately too much to overcome.

After getting shut out 6-0 on Saturday night against Ottawa, the Wild have now failed to score a goal in six consecutive periods. It's their second straight shutout loss for the first time since 2022.

They will have a chance to get back on track Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center against the Hurricanes, as they look to catch up the the first-place Jets, who continue to grow their divisional lead.
