The Minnesota Wild announced today the signing of top prospect Danila Yurov to a three-year entry-level contract.
Yurov, 21, was recently released from his KHL contract with Metallurg Magnitogorsk at the end of April. He was drafted by the Wild with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
The 6-foot-1 center recorded 13 goals, 12 assists, and 25 points in 46 games this season. It came one year after he exploded for 21 goals, 28 assists, and 49 points in 62 games during the 2023-24 season.
His 49-point season in the KHL during the 23-24 season broke the KHL record for most points in a season as a 20-year-old. The previous record was held by Vladimir Tarasenko.
He had surgery on a lower-body injury in February but is all healed up now. Yurov will be given a good chance to make the team out of camp and is a big piece of the Wild's future going forward.
