Aaron Banks came to Titletown to win a ring, that’s why the former San Francisco 49ers offensive guard agreed to terms with the Green Bay Packers this offseason.

Aaron Banks Reveals Major Reason he Signed with Green Bay Packers

Banks, who thrived in Kyle Shanahan’s system, which could set up a smooth transition into becoming a cornerstone along the Packers’ offensive line in head coach Matt LaFleur’s system, hopes to be a missing piece towards bringing the Lombardi Trophy home.

“They’ve been in the playoffs every year and it’s a young team and guys are only getting better,” Banks told reporters. “As the younger guys on this team start to become older guys and then we start to bring everybody along, I just think we’re really close. I think we have all the tools and all the pieces to get there, and not only get there but win it.”

Agreeing to terms on a four-year-deal worth $77 million not only sets Banks up to be a key component to keeping quarterback Jordan Love upright, and opening running lanes for Josh Jacobs, but the Packers hope he can provide the kind of stability up front that can unlock the offense’s championship potential.

“He’s a pretty big guy out there,” said Head Coach Matt LaFleur of Banks. “He’s played a lot of football, and there’s a lot of similarities in regards to the scheme where he came from to what we do. Obviously, we know what he’s capable of doing, but it also provides us with a lot of flexibility with everyone else around him.”
