Summer House’s Amanda Batula Shares “Biggest ‘Icks’” about Husband Kyle Cooke, and Reveals She Took Step Back from His Loverboy Company

On Summer House, Kyle and Amanda have addressed some relationship struggles since getting married. When they filmed the season, Amanda was working full-time at the beverage brand.

Speaking with Page Six, Amanda revealed her “biggest ‘icks'” about Kyle.

“The mullet is a huge no-no for me,” said Amanda of her husband’s recent hairdo. “Another ick is he has this click in his jaw when he chews, and he eats nuts all the time and it absolutely drives crazy.”

She said Kyle cannot “pick out an outfit on his own,” and he always asks her what to wear before even “looking in his closet.”

“It really bothers me,” she said. “Another ick for me is how much he loves going to the gym … I don’t love going to the gym that much. And that man has to go work out every single day. And I just don’t know how he does it, and it really bothers me.”

In an interview with Us Weekly, Amanda revealed a change in her involvement with Loverboy.

“I’ve taken a slight step back for the sake of our relationship,” said Amanda of her position as branding and creative director. “I think that we were at a place where I would be frustrated about something happening on my end, and he would take it very personally … Or he’d complain about something that I approved, and I made a decision on, and I would take it personally. So it wasn’t great for our relationship.”

But Amanda claimed she’s “still very much involved” with the company, though it’s no longer in an “everyday capacity.”

“I think we needed a little bit of that separation for now,” said the star. “If we had our relationship issues and we had our work issues, then it was a lot. So this seems to be working for us right now.”

“Honestly, I kind of just did it after BravoCon [in November 2023]. I was like, ‘I need some downtime,’” said Amanda. “And then [I] just never fully submerged myself back into work. I kind of did my meetings and did the jobs I was supposed to do, but sort of slowly step back and he’s like, ‘Are you not joining these meetings?’ I was like, ‘No.’”

Amanda explained that she wanted to find her passion – and improve her and Kyle’s relationship.

“I don’t want us to end up resenting each other because of a job. You know what I mean?” she shared. “I’m the type of person that works to live, not lives to work, so I would hate for this beautiful thing that we’re building to be the reason that we potentially separated or fell out … [Now] we can focus on our relationship and then hopefully maybe get back to a place where I’m more involved again.”
