Dreams becoming reality. Amanda Batula voiced the vision of starting her own swim line in the summer of 2023 while filming for Summer House. At the time, her husband, Kyle Cooke, wasn’t very keen on the idea. He saw it as taking focus off of his Loverboy company and the duo got into a fight over it.
But a year on, and one upcoming collaboration with South Moon Under later, does the Loverboy founder feel the same way? Amanda shared the details in a recent interview.
Kyle Cooke is helping Amanda Batula on the “business side of things’
Amanda revealed to Life & Style that Kyle has been “extremely supportive” of her line.
She explained that the fight from Season 8 of the hit reality TV was the result of Kyle only hearing “what he wants to hear.” Amanda thinks he “wasn’t fully understanding” what creating a swimwear line would entail.
“We had conversations after that … right after the summer, not even when I was thinking about really doing anything, and he completely got it,” the Bravolebrity said of the fight from the Summer of 2023.
At the time, Amanda wanted help from Kyle with the “business side of things” and negotiations.” She cited her contribution to Loverboy as the Creative Director and acknowledged her husband’s strengths in business. Thankfully, Kyle is fully on board to help however he can.
“He is so willing to hop on the phone with me and take … the lead on a call, or whatever it is that I need from him. And then he just kind of stays out of it and lets me do my creative thing,” she shared. “And he’s not really involved in that aspect.”
Amanda shared that Summer Moon Under “believed in me”
A collaboration with Summer Moon Under is the perfect solution for Amanda, who admitted that “logistics are not my thing.”
“They reached out, as well as a few other brands, and people [were] just showing interest. And we started a conversation,” Amanda explained. “Just hearing how much they believed in me and were excited about this … The team is just so amazing, and we all get along so well. It just was such an easy natural fit.”
She added, “I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it on my own. I’m a creative person.”
Concepts for the line include “the fit, the adjustability, the support, and the comfortability of the pieces.” Especially for consumers with larger breasts. Fans will be able to purchase from the line in 2025.
“I wanted to make sure that [we’re] doing something that’s like a little different, or taking some of my favorite things from swimsuits that I have and combining them into what I think is the perfect swim top for my bigger boobs so that I don’t have to alter stuff and change them afterwards,” Amanda shared.
As for the “food-focused” designs, the reality TV star joked that she “must have been hungry” when she started envisioning the line.
“A lof of it has to do with food,” Amanda said. “Our first drop is sort of like cherries.”
Summer House is currently streaming on Peacock.
