“Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev’s ex-wife, Nikki Garcia, will be spending Valentine’s Day with her son.
“For me right now, it’s anything with my son,” Garcia told E! News. “He gives me the greatest love ever. He fills my cup up beyond,” she continued.
“So it would be having a really fun lunch with french fries because that is his favorite and now it’s my favorite,” she added.
Garcia filed for divorce from Chigvintsev in September 2024.
Nikki Garcia Hasn’t Really Explained the Divorce to Matteo
In an interview with Us Weekly, Garcia opened up about how she’s approached her divorce with her 4-year-old son, Matteo.
“I’ve used words like divorce, [but] it’s only been when he’s asked. Everything’s kind of been about us just having our own homes,” Garcia told the outlet.
“You get to go see Mommy and you get to go see Daddy. On Christmas, we made sure we were both there when we baked Santa’s cookies. Matteo went to bed and we both were there when he woke up. Because he’s our focus, we want to keep those moments,” she continued.
Garcia went on to say that sharing time with her son has been “incredibly tough.”
“I had never been in our home without him. So getting through those days is extremely difficult because I just love being around my son so much,” she explained.
Nikki Garcia Has the Full Support of Her Twin Sister, Brie
As she continues to navigate her life as a single mom, Garcia has the full support of her sister, Brie Garcia.
“It’s been hard because I’m a fixer, so I want to fix it for her,” Brie Garcia told People magazine. “I want to do it and I’m very vocal, so I want to do it loudly and express myself. So I have to always be tame, which is hard. It’s hard because you hate seeing someone you love go through something hard,” she continued.
“But also, I told her, I’m like, ‘It’s kind of weird.’ It’s like, we learn from each other and we grow together, [but] I didn’t think at 41 I’d still have more growth, but I do. There’s no one I would rather be on this life journey with than her. And my husband too. But with her, it’s like we really are unapologetically, with our flaws, we’re just unapologetic about it, and I love it,” Brie Garcia added.
