Austen Kroll is remembering the good times with his ex-girlfriend, Madison LeCroy.
Though Austen and Madison had a bumpy relationship, the exes have come out on the other side with a strong friendship and a greater understanding of each other's likes and dislikes. So, naturally, when they meet for lunch in the above preview of Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 9, Madison knows that Austen will appreciate her having a drink ready upon his arrival.
When Madison tells Austen she ordered shots for them, he declares, "That's why I f--king miss you." Taken aback, Madison asks him to repeat himself and Austen clarifies that he misses their friendship.
However, he says their past romantic relationship did a number on him. "Madison put me through f--king hell," he admits in a confessional. "And I didn't know if I wanted to date someone again."
But now, they're in a much different place. As oyster shooters arrive to their table, Austen enthusiastically jokes with Madison, "It's like you know me."
In his confessional, Austen shares more about what his relationship with Madison looks like today.
"Now Madison treats me like her GBF [gay best friend]," he quips. "Take the relationship out of it, we could've been hanging out years ago!"
How long were Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy together?
The Southern Charm cast members have a long romantic history that first began in 2019, just ahead of Madison's debut in Season 6. From there, they were in an on-and-off relationship before going their separate ways for the last time in 2020.
Madison later told BravoTV.com in 2021 that viewers didn't see them at their best, which made it difficult to stay together. "That, I think, changed a lot of things for us. We had no privacy. Any fights, any drama, everybody knew about it," she reflected.
Their shared history continued to be a source of conflict as they filmed together, but they've been able to find resolution in recent years. As Madison explained in an Amazon Live in November, she sees no point in holding grudges since they see each other so often and have mutual friends.
"I think after five years of time, it’s like you just gotta grow up," she said. "We’re adults, we work together, so yeah."

Not long after breaking up with Austen, Madison met her now-husband Brett Randle, a firefighter from California, while on vacation with friends in Arizona. Though the duo lived on different sides of the country, they decided to date long-distance. After six months of dating, Brett asked Madison's son Hudson for his blessing to pop the question, even asking him to take part in the proposal.
“He proposed to me in the living room, and my son’s behind him, just clapping,” Madison shared.
The couple later tied the knot in Mexico in November 2022.

Austen is dating Audrey Pratt, who made her debut in Season 10 of Southern Charm. Fans have already seen Audrey meet Austen's parents, and Austen has even said "I love you" on camera, just three months into their romance.
