The former bachelorette released a single on Thursday, June 19 that appears to reference her past relationships.
Kaitlyn Bristowe has dropped a telling new song.
The former Bachelorette announced on Instagram Thursday, June 19 that she's released a new song, Lonely in Love, in celebration of her 40th birthday.
"I am a singer. I’m also a writer. And I’m also 40 today.. Continuing to always push myself to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I hope this song makes you feel something. Either empowered to leave, proud you got out, or just simply going through something right now that could also pass." she added.
The ballad is seemingly about the end of the relationship, though Bristowe doesn't share specifically which ex, or exes, she is singing about.
"Perfect / If you just looked at the pictures, it was perfect," she sings. "If you took the time / to look behind the curtain / you’d see the reason I felt stranded."
"You took my heart and everything for granted / And I just ran through the motions / Burned out and broken / You’d think you’d notice me / Lying awake in a bed we just sleep in / dreaming of reasons to not give it up." the song continues.
Bristowe was previously engaged to fellow Bachelor Nation alum Jason Tartick. They split in August 2023 after four years together.
Bristowe previously released two singles in 2020, Good for Somebody and If I’m Being Honest, the latter of which was about her breakup from ex-fiancé Shawn Booth. Booth and Bristowe met, and got engaged, during Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette in 2015, ultimately breaking up in 2018.
Bristowe received congratulations and birthday wishes in the comments from several Bachelor nation members, including rumored boyfriend Zac Clark.
"Happy Birthday Moon. This is brave, great song. Keep Going." he wrote.
"OMG!!! So proud of you!!! I love you voice- our little Canadian girl with her Nashville twang 😍😍😍😍" added Becca Tilley, Bristowe's cast mate on Chris Soules' season of The Bachelor.
"Soooooo freaking proud of you!!! It is so good! ❤️" said Trista Sutter, season one Bachelorette.
