Former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is visiting Stockton to support his former boxing teammate Tom Patti in the race for mayor of Stockton.
"I think he's just a politician as he was a boxer and is willing to fight until the end," Tyson said.
Tyson and Patti have been friends for years and this is not the first time Tyson has visited the city of Stockton.
Both of them said it has changed over the years.
Right now, Patti says one of his priorities is reducing the impact of homelessness.
"Homelessness is the biggest concern that the public has because we see it everywhere. It's a humanity crisis. So, if we address it and triage it, and if we accomplish into the state and the cities what we accomplish already in the county where we have no encampments, we have an encampment response team," Patti said.
He said mental health services and drug treatment for the unhoused are helpful in creating a better place.
