Broncos add familiar face to practice squad ahead of Wild Card playoff game

The Denver Broncos, despite preparing for a tough road playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, are making sure to beef up the offensive line by adding another reinforcement to the practice squad.

Denver Broncos have waived offensive lineman Will Sherman - Mile High Report

The Broncos have signed Will Sherman back to the practice squad. The team had to let him go back in October with an injury settlement but now back to healthy, Sherman will join the team and likely sign a future contract as soon as the season officially comes to an end.

Sherman played his college ball at Colorado before being drafted in the sixth round by the New England Patriots in 2021. After being waived there, the Broncos signed him ahead of the 2022 season and he has been with the organization since. He appeared in one game for the Patriots in 2021 but is still just 25 years old and has a good chance to help the Broncos in the future.

Broncos now have four offensive linemen on the practice squad

Sean Payton is always considering his offensive line, not only making sure it is strong on the 53-man roster but also making sure there is quality depth on the practice squad.

Sherman joins Calvin Throckmorton, Cam Fleming and Nick Gargiulo as offensive linemen on the practice squad. The team will go into Buffalo on Sunday with nine offensive linemen on the 53-man roster.

Matt Peart and Quinn Bailey are scheduled to be unrestricted free agents at season's end. Sherman likely won't play in any games this season, barring something disastrous, but there should be plenty of room for him to compete for a roster spot in 2025.
