Charity Lawson & Dotun Olubeko Moving on After Year in NYC

“The Bachelorette” stars Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko shared a big update on their relationship, as change is in the air.

As Us Weekly noted, Lawson and Olubeko met during season 20 of “The Bachelorette,” which aired in the spring of 2023. They ended the season engaged, and after she competed on “Dancing with the Stars,” the couple moved into their first place of their own in New York City.

Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko's Relationship Timeline

The pair’s relationship has remained solid, although they did put wedding planning on hold. Despite that, Lawson and Olubeko seem to be as in love as ever. They just revealed that they are on the move, though.

The Couple’s Next Place Will Serve Their Needs Better

On December 11, Lawson shared the news in an Instagram Story. She teased, “Life Update: We Are Moving!!!”

Lawson explained, “We are moving!! We are moving and I literally cannot believe it. It’s crazy to think about that literally a year ago I was in full hibernation from recovering from ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ but also trying to figure out where we were gonna move to.”

“Fun fact, we actually found the current place that we are in one week before we were supposed to fly out here. Do not recommend,” she continued.

Lawson added that their first place “has served us so well,” but they decided to move into a new place. “We just wanna maximize our time here but also be in a place that’s going to serve our needs the best,” she noted.

She told her Instagram followers she was excited to share more with fans, and on December 16, she did. In one Instagram Story, she noted it was their last day in their place. Lawson admitted she was feeling emotional about it.

On December 17, Olubeko and Lawson added new Instagram Stories showing the movers hard at work in loading up their belongings. While Lawson did not share much about their new place, it sounded as if it would still be in New York City.

When Lawson initially shared news about the couple’s move, she opened up about the challenges of the past year. “This year was all about reset, balancing, coming back to ground zero,” she explained.

Lawson continued, “After everything that I went through, I personally just needed to figure out how to balance this new lifestyle and figure out how much I wanted to share.”

“Especially my relationship, home life, everything. I definitely want to share more,” she added.

She promised, “Our move will be one of the first things you guys see from us this holiday season. So excited to share this with you guys!”

In September, Lawson told Us Weekly the wedding planning would be put on hold for a bit. “We’ve taken a pause on it and I’m totally fine announcing that,” she shared.

Lawson noted she was “still easing into normalcy” after doing “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Bachelorette,” and “The Bachelor,” as well as moving across the country.

“Obviously, we’re still getting married. We’re taking a moment, taking a beat,” she reassured fans.
