Brittany Mahomes is expecting a third child with her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The couple announced the news Friday in a post on Instagram.
The Mahomes were married in March 2022. The two are parents to daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick "Bronze," 18 months.
The two met at Whitehouse High School in Texas and began dating in 2012 (h/t People and Today.com.)
Brittany went on to play collegiate soccer for the University of Texas at Tyler, then spent one season playing for the Icelandic club Afturelding.
Mahomes meanwhile played both baseball and football Texas Tech before the Chiefs selected him with the No. 10 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has gone on to lead Kansas City to three Super Bowl championships since.
The quarterback brought his wife and two children on the field to celebrate Kansas City's last championship victory in February, after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
Mahomes will now hope his family gets another chance to participate in a championship celebration next year after guaranteeing a Chiefs three-peat in May.
No NFL team has ever managed to win three straight Super Bowls, but Mahomes is determined to pull off the feat while putting together his seventh straight season with at least 4,000 passing yards.
If the reigning Super Bowl MVP is able to lead the Chiefs to a historic title next February, the newest member of the Mahomes family may be able to join him on the field to celebrate.
