The Cleveland Browns appear to be poised for a major roster overhaul this offseason after the news of Myles Garrett’s request for a trade and a brutal cap situation.

Cleveland Browns All-Pro Named New England Patriots ‘Top Trade Target’

With a slew of talent on Cleveland’s roster, some have begun swirling about potential trades involving other players on the team, most recently from Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department, who named Browns All-Pro offensive tackle Jack Conklin as a ‘top trade target’ for New England.

BR mentions the depth behind Conklin, with 2023 fourth-rounder Dawand Jones slated as Conklin’s potential successor. Conklin will be 31 years old when the 2025-26 season kicks off in September.

For New England, they struggled mightily against teams with average or better pass rushes last season, giving up the fourth most sacks in the NFL with 52.

It’s no secret that the Patriots need strong pass protection to develop a young quarterback, and Conklin brings veteran experience and leadership that can be valuable for the rest of the offensive line.

Conklin has a cap hit of slightly over $19 million in 2025, a number that could most likely be renegotiated following a trade with New England, who has the most cap space heading into this offseason.

While offensive linemen are potentially more of a hot commodity now than ever, the Browns are in a situation where they will most likely be starting the process of a lengthy rebuild.
