Eddie Hearn has not held back in his assessment of Jake Paul's fight with Mike Tyson.
Paul has faced a wave of criticism after agreeing to fight 58-year-old heavyweight legend Tyson in a sanctioned professional bout on November 15.
There is a 32-year age gap between the pair, and many are concerned for the health of Tyson given he hasn't fought as a professional since retiring in 2005.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Hearn, who has previously feuded with Paul, insists the fight is simply disrespectful to the traditions of the sport of boxing.
He told BBC Sport: "The reality is that 20 years ago when Mike Tyson retired from the sport he was shot, completely finished.
"It was actually sad to watch then, 20 years ago. I'm in awe of him - he's one of my favourite ever fighters, one of the greatest of all time - but he's a 58-year-old man.
"You only need to speak to him and look at him to know this guy should not be in a ring again.
"If I was Jake Paul I'd just feel a little bit embarrassed to be honest with you. It's a liberty.
"This is dangerous, irresponsible and, in my opinion, disrespectful to the sport of boxing.
"That was the moment [Tyson withdrew from original July date] they should have realised that this was actually a bad idea.
"Everybody loves a dollar bill, including me, but sometimes the green-eyed monster can make you some bad decisions - and I think this is one of them."
Hearn's comments may not go down well, given he will likely be in attendance at the event.
The British promoter will have Katie Taylor fighting Amanda Serrano in a huge rematch in the co-main event.
And he added: "We received a massive offer for Katie. I'm not going to tell her she's not allowed to fight on that card. Financially it's the biggest purse of her career.
"I won't be watching the main event. We'll be there defending the belts, and then I'll be off."
Mike Tyson drops new training footage ahead of huge fight with Jake Paul and shows off his power on the pads
Tyson himself has regularly lashed back at criticism of the fight, and insisted it is his own decision and he will be in shape.
The veteran has also been posting clips of training footage in a bid to prove his fitness.
And he has explained why he intends to ignore backlash and put himself at risk.
“I could be waiting on a check every day from cannabis,’’ Tyson said. That’s bulls*** for me. I’m a man.
"I want to go out there and I want to expose myself to risk. Sometimes I want to see who I really am.
"I want to see what I’m really made out of. I want to perform in front of the world.
"To me, that’s all I ever knew how to do since I was 14. This fight is not going to change my life financially enough.
"This is just what I want to do.’’
