Daniel Dubois built his ultimate boxer in an interview with Sky Sports, which included the likes of Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao, but left out others.
Dubois is a fantastic boxer in his own right. The 27-year-old has a professional boxing record of 22 wins and 2 losses, with 21 wins by knockout.
The Briton’s next fight is scheduled for July 19th, where he’ll take on the mighty Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley Stadium.
To outwit Usyk, he’ll need to summon the strength of some of the very best before him. Some of which, would definitely be included in Dubois’ ultimate puncher.
Daniel Dubois builds his dream boxer
In a June 2024 interview with Sky Sports Boxing, Dubois was tasked to build his dream boxer, which included some ridiculous legends of the sport. His picks went as follows:
- Footwork: Muhammad Ali
- Speed: Manny Pacquiao/Mike Tyson
- Power: Mike Tyson
- Jab: Lennox Lewis
- Chin: Marvin Hagler
- Boxing IQ: Floyd Mayweather JR.
- Trash talk: Floyd Mayweather JR.
- Ring Walk: Prince Naseem
Muhammad Ali was first for Dubois. His footwork is widely regarded as ludicrous and was a key component of his success.
Then, it was a toss-up between Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao for speed. Dubois seemingly couldn’t decide – so both were included.
Power then went to Tyson, jab to the iconic Lennox Lewis and chin to Marvin Hagler.
Dubois then included a double for Floyd Mayweather JR, stating that the Brooklyn-born fighter wasn’t only equipped with brains, but also brawn of the verbal kind – gifting him the top spot in boxing IQ and trash talk.

Finally, Prince Naseem takes the last spot. No surprise, with his flamboyant and theatrical ring walks nothing short of legendary.
Daniel Dubois missed out massive names like Joe Louis
Granted, Dubois couldn’t include everyone, but some seriously big names missed out on a mention.
Sugar Ray Robinson, widely regarded as the greatest pound-for-pound boxer in history, is a notable omission. As are Joe Louis and Evander Holyfield.
In regard to modern-day boxers, an argument could be made for Tyson Fury, and in fact Dubois’ next opponent in Oleksandr Usyk.
Still, a fearsome list, and a boxer we certainly wouldn’t want to be squaring up against any time soon.
