Denver Broncos Super Bowl Star Unretires Midseason
The Denver Broncos have seen a couple of key players from their team that won Super Bowl 50 retire in 2024. Star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. officially retired from the NFL in Week 6 as a member of the Broncos.

Linebacker Shaquil Barrett announced his retirement in July. The All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowl defender signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins in March.
However, per ESPN's Aam Schefter, Barrett has applied to be reinstated immediately.
"Former Pro-Bowl LB Shaq Barrett, who announced his retirement from the NFL in July, has applied to be reinstated to play immediately, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey," Schefter wrote. "Barrett is coming out of retirement. The Dolphins currently hold Barrett’s contractual rights."
It's not immediately clear if the Dolphins intend to make room on the 53-man roster or practice squad for Barrett.
The 32-year-old athlete out of Baltimore, Maryland, appears to be returning in time to make a playoff push.

The Broncos initially signed Barrett as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 and won Super Bowl LV with the Buccaneers.
Barrett has played in 131 NFL games and started in 85. The former Colorado State standout has made 400 tackles, 73 tackles for loss, 59 sacks and 22 forced fumbles in his career.
