Emma Slater, Alan Bersten Seemingly Confirm Relationship with Kiss During ' DWTS' Tour

Alfonso Ribeiro Wasn’t Surprised by Alan Bersten & Emma Slater’s ‘Connection’

Rumors of a romance between Bersten and Slater appeared to be finally confirmed when the couple shared a kiss at the end of their last dance of the final night of the DWTS: Live! 2025 tour.

At Disney’s Get Real event on April 22, Ribeiro told People how “there was no surprise” about the couple’s “connection.” The way they hard launched the relationship was a little more of a shock, however.

“Emma’s my sister and she’s at my house several times a week. So, clearly, my household knew what was going on. We just didn’t know that they had made the decision to launch,” Ribeiro said.

He continued, “At the end of the day, [I’m] happy for them. When people find something that they enjoy — enjoy it, live it. Why live a lie?”

Ribeiro noted that since the “rumors were out there,” taking things public made sense. “I think that people were already [speculating],” the host explained.

Video of their kiss landed on TikTok and fans were thrilled to see it. Comments about the moment included, “Now that’s a hard launch” and “I knew this was how they would hard launch during the last show!!!”

One fan noted, “It’s been pretty much an open secret, but yay! They’re so cute together.”

One person shared, “I WAS THERE AND SCREAMED MY HEAD OFF” when the moment went down.

Julianne Hough Was Surprised About the Couple: ‘I Live Under a Rock’

Ribeiro’s co-host Julianne Hough said she was definitely surprised, however. “I live under a rock,” Hough remarked. “I don’t know anything.”

She also shared that “DWTS” showmances can be “messy” at times, but other times they are “really beautiful.”

“There’s so much trust that has to be built with a partnership and so, there’s instant chemistry in an attraction way, but the chemistry that’s built is usually built off of trust,” Hough explained.

She added, “And that’s why there’s probably so many showmances because you’re with this person every day, and being vulnerable, and showing up. So I root for it, I think it’s a beautiful place to meet people.”
