DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Reacts to Robert Irwin Joining the Cast
After a rollercoaster previous season, high expectations are set for Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars. Only one upcoming contestant has been revealed to hit the dance floor, and if the rest of the lineup is anything like him, this might be the most-watched DWTS season yet.
It was announced in exciting, shirtless fashion that Robert Irwin will be competing in Season 34. Not only is he a current heartthrob, but his oldest sister Bindi Irwin famously competed, and won, Season 21 of DWTS. What do the pros think of this family legacy? Longtime pro dancer Alan Bersten, whose most recent partner was Ilona Maher, has already weighed in on this.
Robert Irwin is the first DWTS Season 34 cast member to be announced
Alan recently discussed Season 34’s debut casting choice. The pro dancer is thrilled, especially as Robert’s DWTS experience has now come full circle.
“He’s so popular right now and he’s just such a good person to be on the show. There’s videos of him from 10 years ago just sitting there in awe of his sister and now he gets a chance to do it. It’s really good. I’m really excited,” he told US Weekly.
Because Robert’s casting has set the bar, Alan decided to throw out some other heavy-hitters for potential partners this season.
“I think Jennifer Love Hewitt would be great. She’s awesome. You don’t want to go too big, [but] Beyoncé would be great, but I don’t know if she’ll do the show. There’s a lot of people that you hope would do the show [who] are not only big names, but they care about doing the show.”
