Eagles predicted to lose dream acquisition to an NFC East division rival

We've been talking about this most recent Philadelphia Eagles team since the door slammed shut on their collapse last season. The 2023-24 Birds campaign didn't give us much to root for down the stretch, but how about this squad we were fortunate to watch this season? Uncertainty led to a championship parade on Valentine's Day. That's one heck of a make-up date, right?

Eagles predicted to lose dream acquisition to an NFC East division rival

Though we'll never forget this past season from our now two-time Super Bowl champions, we are harboring mixed emotions. We're kind of bummed there's no more Eagles football to watch, and it's time to begin another title run from scratch.

So, what do we do now? The answer is simple actually. We talk about what comes next and discuss every ounce of news and rumors that involve them.

So, how is that possible Eagles acquisition of Myles Garrett going?

One of the topics we'll be tossing around for fodder is that dream Eagles acquisition of Myles Garrett. He announced he wanted to be traded. Lines were drawn connecting the dots between him and Philadelphia.

Garrett was asked about this and seemed as though he'd be interested in joining the Birds' nest. Eagles Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman was asked about this, and wisely, he didn't bite on a question mentioning a player under contract with another franchise.

USA TODAY's For The W!n brand mentioned him in a recent write-up, 25 NFL predictions for the 2025 offseason, including where Sam Darnold lands.

"Cleveland has a huge decision to make this offseason with Garrett, who wants to be traded. With the Browns needing an infusion of talent on both sides of the ball, Garrett could net the team a really strong trade package in return.

The Commanders are a Super Bowl contender with oodles of cap space and a clear spot for a superstar pass-rusher. Cleveland sending Garrett to Washington to be quarterback Jayden Daniels’ answer to star power on the defense would be a game-changer."

Those are the words of Cory Woodroof, the author of this one. Garrett in a Commanders' jersey? We could see it, but we doggone sure wouldn't be fans of the move.

Garrett would join an already formidable Washington defense, one led by a couple of defensive gurus in Dan Quinn (the head coach) and Joe Whitt Jr., their defensive coordinator. This would also cause a few more Eagles headaches as the Commanders have outpaced the Dallas Cowboys to become Philly's stiffest competition in the NFC East.
