The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hoping to add some pieces to their defensive roster for next season in an attempt to bolster the pass rush.
Todd Bowles' unit failed to make an impact in rushing the quarterback last season and needs to improve to make a push next year.
USA Today's Jacob Camenker recently published his best free agency targets for each NFL team, and tagged Matthew Judon for the Bucs.
The Buccaneers don't have a lot of cap space, so they may find themselves bargain-hunting a bit. Judon is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, as he generated just 4.5 sacks and 25 pressures. However, he was traded to the Falcons just a month before the regular season, so perhaps the Buccaneers can sell themselves on him regaining his form with a full offseason in Todd Bowles' system.
Judon didn't perform well last season with the Falcons, mainly because he was the only threat along the defensive line for opposing offenses. That won't be the case in Tampa Bay.
Judon could benefit from having the likes of Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea lined up alongside him.
General manager Jason Licht has kept their offseason priorities close to the cuff so far, so we'll have to wait until free agency opens in mid-March before seeing what his plan is.
