The Las Vegas Raiders battled the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs hard on Friday afternoon before falling 19-17 on the road at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.
The Raiders outgained the Chiefs 434 to 329 on the day as they appeared to back up their coach Antonio Pierce's pledge to play coach Andy Reid's squad tough in their divisional rivalry game.
One Raiders player who embodied his team's never-say-die attitude on the day was star defensive end Maxx Crosby, who compiled three tackles and a sack against Patrick Mahomes and his offensive line.
Stark footage of Crosby fighting through three players to get to the ball carrier was shared on social media causing fans to react with uncommon candor.
"They're out here triple teaming Maxx Crosby," the X page Woodward Sports wrote as they showed Crosby attempting to fight through multiple blocks.
"Maxx is often double teamed but this is crazy lol," one fan wrote in the comments section.
"Should have come to Detroit," another fan said on the Detroit based Twitter page.
"He's being wasted with the Raiders," still another fan said.
The Lions traded for former Browns defensive end Za'Darius Smith after initial interest in Crosby. Smith has seven sacks on the season, one less than injured Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson with 7.5 games despite Hutchinson only playing five games on the season so far.
Crosby now has 6.5 sacks on the season, less than both Lions players. He had 14.5 and 12.5 sacks in the previous two seasons, suggesting that carrying the Raiders' defense may be taking its toll on him this year.
