Former Wild Defenseman Signs PTO With Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators announced Thursday they have signed defenseman Calen Addison and forward Nikolay Kulemin to Professional Tryouts (PTO).

What the Minnesota Wild gave up in Addison, get in Bogosian on two-trade day

Addison, 24, played 92 games with the Wild in his time in Minnesota. He was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins in a deal that sent Jason Zucker the other way.

Minnesota eventually traded the young defender to San Jose for forward Adam Raska and a fifth-round pick. The Sharks let him go after he played in 60 games and was a minus-35.

In 152 regular season NHL games with Minnesota and San Jose, Addison has recorded six goals and 44 assists for a total of 50 points.

The Brandon, Manitoba native's best season came during the 2022-23 season with the Wild were he recorded three goals, 26 assists, 29 points, and 21 power-play points as the team's power play one quarterback.

Standing in at 5-foot-11, Addison has been viewed as a defensive liability and has really only carved out a path as a power-play specialist. The Senators will look to get that out of him this year and more.
