BIP mixes castoffs from previous Bachelor and Bachelorette shows on a beach together. The format has sparked many successful relationships. The contestants generally don’t usually know each other and meet for the first time on the beach. Season 10 added a new twist by including the senior contestants from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette.
It’s been an issue in past seasons when contestants have hooked up or formed connections before arriving at the beach. Season 10 cast member Jess Edwards revealed she had her eye on one man and reached out before the show.
Jess Edwards Found Herself In A Love Triangle On BIP
Jess Edwards was a contestant on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. He sent her home in Week 6, along with current BIP co-star, Lexi Young.
She joined Season 10 of Bachelor In Paradise with the hope of finding a love match. But what she didn’t expect was to find two almost immediately after arriving at the beach. She was given a tour of the new resort in Costa Rica by Season 21 Bachelorette alum Spencer Conley.
Sparks also flew between Jess and Sam McKinney, who was the villain of Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette season.
Jess and Sam enjoyed a nice date together, but then she also enjoyed time with Spencer. She found herself in one of the first love triangles of Season 10. There’s another big one coming up later in the season.
At the end of the first episode, Jess Edwards had two suitors but only one rose to give out. She ultimately chose Spencer Conley, at least for now.
She opened up to Paradise magazine about why she chose Spencer over Sam.
“I was definitely comparing and contrasting, so I think at the end of the day, my connection with Spencer was just so much stronger,” she said.
She Admits She Slid Into The DMs Of A Fellow Contestant
But Jess Edwards already had her eye on Spencer Conley for a while. She admitted to Parade that she followed him on Instagram when he was on Jenn Tran’s season. She also revealed that she slid into his DMs. “I will say, I definitely slid into the DMs once or twice, like, ‘Cute dog,’ or, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to make that recipe!’”
“I did have my sights set on him coming into this. He’s definitely at the tippy-top of my list,” she said during a confessional during the first episode. Having a connection before the show has caused backlash among viewers in past seasons.
But so far, fans think Spencer and Jess are a great match. Click here if you want to find out if they’re still together.
The premise of Bachelor In Paradise has always been about finding love. But things change this season when a cash prize is thrown into the mix. The contestants may have to decide between love or money. What would you choose?
