From Hawaii to L.A. to FOR SALE: Nick and Vanessa Lachey Unload $7.4M Home Less Than a Year After Leaving Island Life Behind

Married “Love Is Blind” hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey have put their picturesque Encino property on the market for $7.4 million—less than a year after snapping up the dwelling to serve as their family’s home base when they relocated back to California from Hawaii.

Nick, 51, and Vanessa, 44, purchased the six-bedroom abode in July 2024, one month before they sold their stunning Honolulu home for $9.5 million. It was widely believed that the property was going to serve as their family’s full-time abode.

As first reported by TMZ, the Encino residence was put back on the market on June 23—almost one year to the day since the Lacheys snapped it up for $6.8 million.

Located in the gated Amstoy Estates neighborhood, the three-story home initially seemed like the perfect place for the family to settle down, after the cancellation of Vanessa’s hit show, “NCIS: Hawaii,” prompted them to leave behind their life in Oahu.

While the dwelling—which spans nearly 8,200 square feet—does not boast the same tropical aesthetic as the duo’s Hawaiian home, it still has plenty to offer in luxury.

The high-end offerings include a basement with a game area, wet bar, and media room; a safe room; a pool and pool house; and a basketball court.

It is currently not known what prompted the pair to part ways with the dwelling so soon after buying it. Neither Nick nor Vanessa has any projects in the works that might take them away from California for an extended period. Season 9 of “Love Is Blind” was already filmed in Denver earlier this year, according to reports.

Vanessa’s final appearance on “NCIS: Hawaii,” which ran for three seasons, aired on May 6, 2024, just a few months before their Honolulu home was sold.

The couple first purchased that house in May 2022, after relocating to the island paradise in 2021 with their three children when Vanessa landed her role in the hit crime show.

Soon after their move, Nick voiced his excitement over their relocation, joking that it was impossible to complain about living in a real-life paradise.

“Hawaii is Hawaii, you can’t complain about it. It’s a total life adjustment, so I think for the whole family, it took some time to get into that new school, new living situation. But, yeah, we’re loving it,” he told ET in September 2021.

“It’s a great place to be and most importantly, [Vanessa is] at home on her show doing what she loves to do. We’re all loving it, and it’s good for the entire family. Hopefully we’ll be there for the next 15 years.”

Sadly, however, that dream was not meant to be. When “NCIS: Hawaii” was officially canceled, Nick and Vanessa made the decision to quit island life altogether in favor of returning to California.

They initially listed their island property, which is in the city’s Kahala neighborhood, earlier in the summer for an impressive $9.75 million. But they have since sold it at a $300,000 discount.

Although they accepted a lower offer, the hosts of “Love Is Blind” came out ahead, having paid $8.8 million for the home just two years prior.

While announcing their decision to leave the islands, Vanessa shared a touching message to Hawaiian locals on Instagram, thanking them for helping to make her family feel so at home during her three-year stint on “NCIS.”

“‘A Hui Hou’ (Hawaiian for goodbye): Home is where the heart is… Hawai’i, you will always have my heart! Mahalo Nui Loa for 3 beautiful, magical years you gave me and my family! Now, on to the next adventure. Off into the sunset we go! #LacheyPartyOf5 #AlohaSpirit,” she wrote.

When they purchased their Encino property, the couple were the first to reside full time in it—with records revealing that the home was completed only in 2023 and had been on the market for some time before the Lacheys snapped it up.

It was initially listed for sale in March 2023 with an asking price of $8.5 million. That steadily dropped, landing at $6.9 million in January 2024.

The Lacheys managed to nudge the price down even lower with their offer of $6.8 million—although they now appear to be set on snagging a profit with their own sale.
