“They ask me who is the best boxer of all time – Joe Louis.”
Louis competed from 1934 to 1951, putting together a record of 66 wins, with 52 of those wins coming by knockout and suffering just 3 defeats.
The ‘Brown Bomber’ was world heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949, making a remarkable 25 consecutive title defences.
While Foreman was full of praise for Louis, he did praised Ali for the work he did outside of the ring.
“But I tell you, the best man to ever do anything was Muhammad Ali.”
Ali finished his illustrious career with a record of 56 wins and just 5 defeats, and has received acclaim for his activism, notably refusing to be drafted into the military.
Foreman took on a number of elite fighters throughout his heavyweight tenure, and he has revealed the name of another man he shared the ring with that he felt was better than Ali.
