Golden Bachelorette's Chock Chapple says he cringed while watching Joan kiss other suitors

Newly engaged Chock Chapple finally shared how he felt watching his fiancée date other guys on The Golden Bachelorette.

Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple

Twenty-four suitors competed for Joan Vassos’ final rose on the ABC reality show. Chapple won over the leading lady’s heart in the end, and now the couple are planning a move to New York City.

While many of the suitors, especially Pascal Ibgui, have shared how they felt about Chapple, the insurance executive waited to voice his opinions until he watched the entire show.

Chapple spoke with US Weekly about how it was to relive that part of his life again.

The television personality admitted: “It’s been incredible.”

He was most in awe of how well Vassos handled herself throughout the process.

Chapple said: “Joan’s done a fantastic job navigating this whole journey, not only for herself, but for the other guys who were involved. She did it with class and respect for everyone.”

When asked about how it was watching the school administrator connect with other guys, Chapple admitted it was hard but could have been worse.

“There were a couple cringe moments, but I handled it.” He shared: “If she was gonna kiss guys, at least I knew these guys! They’re all good men. It’s part of the journey.”

Vassos chimed in and said: “Chock knows the guys, and he knew where he stood. All along we were pretty confident in our relationship.”

She said the intimate scenes were harder for her “mortified” kids. The reality star had to “warn them when there was going to be kissing so they could, like, cover their eyes.”

Chapple also reflected on his own behavior on the show, specifically the bowling alley date that he received backlash for.

He shared that at the time, he felt the two “were so dawn to each other” so he couldn’t see how it looked from the outside perspective.

“I wanted to show [Joan] how committed I was to her and how much I loved her,” he said.

Chapple went on to say he understands why the guys were “frustrated.”

“It was the first time the guys were able to see, firsthand, the connection that Joan and I had,” he mentioned.
