Grant Ellis Shares His Side of the Rose & Carolina Drama, and Clears the Air on Pursuing a Music Career

Bachelor Nation fans are watching Grant Ellis look for love on Season 29 of “The Bachelor” and tuning in each week to see his journey.

This week, drama unfolded when a miscommunication took place between him and Rose, and she thought he was thinking about her while dancing with Carolina on a group date.

Now, Grant stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where he shared his side of the Rose and Carolina drama, and cleared the air on if he’s trying to pursue a music career.

When reflecting back on the drama that unfolded with Rose, he told Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, “I think I could pinpoint exactly where [the miscommunication] stemmed from…we had several times when we danced. We danced in the beginning with the lady from the Pussycat Dolls. We were all on stage and when Rose was there, she was right next to me and she’s somebody I had my eyes on. But when I was dancing with Carolina, I was fully present in that moment. So somewhere through the grapevine, things got misconstrued.”

Grant continued and shared how that moment affected him, saying, “At that point, I kind of had to defend myself a little bit because I tried to come into this journey and be really intentional about my words and what I say. And when I did make mistakes, I owned them. So, when that happened, I was really kind of taken aback by it and I had to really defend myself because I know that’s not something that I would say.”

Joe and Serena then asked Grant why he decided to give Rose his final rose of the evening and not send her home after everything that occurred.

Grant replied, “I think everybody deserves a chance. Even though I was really hurt by the situation, and I felt like people were questioning my character, I felt like she at least deserved a chance to stay around. And maybe she really didn’t hear what I said, or maybe she really misunderstood what I said, [but] she owned it.”

The Bachelor continued and expressed how he understands that it’s a confusing situation to be in.

“I kind of took responsibility for that and said, you know I gotta watch what I say,” he admitted, “Because it’s really difficult when you’re dating multiple people, it’s my first time doing it, feelings are gonna get, things are gonna get a little sticky. There’s a little bit of grace there and I just felt like she deserved another chance.”

Joe and Serena brought up Grant’s new song “Party Girls” and asked if pursuing a music career is something that he’s interested in.

Grant replied, “I think it’s possible to look for love and have interests. Maybe the timing wasn’t the best, I thought Night 1 is like a party, it’s just my vibe. I’m somebody who just likes to have fun. I’m creative, and that’s just me. So it’s not like I’m there for the wrong reasons. I think people throw that around so much, but I think you can have both…I think music’s something that’s really fun…[but] no it’s not a goal or intention of mine at all. I think that I’m really happy with what I do for work. I do like karaoke and getting in the studio, making a song…but I’m not pursuing a music career…you guys don’t have to worry about me dropping any more singles.”
