How Ally Lewber Realized Lisa Vanderpump 'Manipulated' Her Into Staying with James Kennedy After Domestic Violence Arrest

Exclusive | Ally Lewber: Lisa Vanderpump 'manipulated' me in James Kennedy call

Ally Lewber is sharing more details on her breakup with James Kennedy.

Shortly after Kennedy, 33, was arrested after a domestic violence incident in December 2024, the
Vanderpump Rules
alum, 29, told Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea that she received a phone call from Lisa Vanderpump and shared how the restauranter, 64, allegedly "manipulated" her during a vulnerable time.

“I’m not hating on myself right now when I say this about me: I’m very impressionable,” she recalled. “I trust [Vanderpump]. I’m like, ‘You’re really smart.’ … I trust her for the most part.”

She continued, claiming that Vanderpump tried to convince her to stay with Kennedy, "She is a Virgo. She’s very articulate. She’s so well-spoken. Like, it’s frickin’ Lisa Vanderpump. So when she calls you and she’s making you laugh but also kind of making sense, I’m like, ‘Is she right? Did I make a wrong choice?’”

Afterwards, Lewber admitted that she felt confused about her decision to part ways with Kennedy until she called her former costar and friend, Scheana Shay, for a second opinion.

“I called Scheana after, and she was like, ‘No, you were just manipulated, and also that was really wrong of her to do,’” she said. “And I was like, ‘OK, yeah, you’re right.’ I had to literally sit back and [ask], ‘What?’”

PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Vanderpump for comment.

Though she's no longer in contact with Kennedy, Lewber noted that she still wanted the best for him and acknowledged that Vanderpump was coming from the same place.

“I think she genuinely has so much love for James, and that’s why I felt for her — because I get it. I don’t want him to suffer either,” she explained. “I will say with [Vanderpump being a] Virgo and the helping of it all, I really do think Lisa genuinely wants to help as best as she can.”

On Dec. 10, 2024, Kennedy was arrested after the Burbank Police Department was called to his Los Angeles home for a domestic violence incident regarding an argument between a man and a woman. He was eventually released on $20,000 bail.

The following month, Lewber confirmed that she and Kennedy had broken up after his lawyer Scott Leemon announced that the Burbank City Attorney's Office would not be filing charges against him.

"Thank you for all your support and kindness," Lewber wrote in a post shared to her Instagram Stories at the time. "I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt."
