I'm Convinced The Bachelor Season 29's Grant Ellis Will Be The Best Lead Yet (He's The Whole Package)

Grant Ellis was announced as the next lead of The Bachelor, and I think he's going to be the best one yet. After getting eliminated by Jenn Tran on The Bachelorette, ABC producers scrambled to fix The Bachelorette's mistakes by announcing Grant's casting as the star of The Bachelor season 29 early. It seemed pretty obvious to me (and many fans) that this surprise announcement was a way of distracting viewers from all the production blunders in Jenn's season of The Bachelorette. Jenn deserved better, and she'd be right to leave The Bachelor franchise after this mess.

The Bachelor Season 29: Grant Ellis' Age, Job, Instagram & More

Originally hailing from Newark, New Jersey, 30-year-old Grant currently lives in Houston, where he works as a day trader after retiring from professional basketball. His father has struggled with alcoholism for Grant's entire life, and he seeks to prioritize family and children in a way his dad never did for him. Grant loves sports and being active, but also has been known to sing a tune or two at karaoke. He's a catch, and I think he's going to be the best Bachelor lead yet.

Grant Gave His All To Jenn

He Opened Up To Her

Grant was sent home in the same episode as controversial cast member Sam McKinney, and Spencer Conley, and he didn't see his departure coming. "I don’t know. Jenn’s a great woman. She’s a great woman, and I expressed my love for her," Grant shared in a confessional. "Like, I poured everything out, and it wasn’t good enough. It just sucks knowing that you feel some way about somebody, and they don’t feel the same way about you." Grant proved that he gave his all to Jenn, who had to make a tough decision by sending the day trader home.

Like, I poured everything out, and it wasn’t good enough. It just sucks knowing that you feel some way about somebody, and they don’t feel the same way about you. "

Unlike Sam, Grant was genuine in his connection to Jenn. As hometowns approached on The Bachelorette, Jenn had to confront some tough realities, particularly regarding her connection with Sam, whose portrayal overshadowed Grant's exit. During the August 12 episode, Sam confessed his love for Jenn, but instead of feeling touched, she expressed doubts about his true feelings. She trusted her gut and sent him home.

Grant Is One Of The Most Genuine Guys From The Bachelorette Season 21

He Deserves Another Shot At Love

Based on his behavior with Jenn on The Bachelorette and subsequent media after his announcement, I think Grant is super genuine and deserves another shot at love. He and Jenn weren't compatible, but he gave the experiment his all and opened up through the process. According to ABC NewsGrant came off as sincere and grateful when The Bachelor season 29 was announced. In a video released by the network, Grant detailed what he was looking for in a wife.

"I'm looking for a love that's kind and understanding," Grant began, continuing, "Some qualities I'm looking for in a potential partner is somebody who's adventurous, somebody who's affectionate and somebody who's loving," he detailed. "I can't wait for this incredible journey to get kicked off; it's going to be so fun and I hope you guys tune in. Peace!" While Grant and Jenn weren't meant to be, he seems to have the right attitude going into The Bachelor season 29. Grant knows what he wants, and he deserves to find someone as genuine as he is.

Spoilers for The Bachelorette season 21 have swirled since before the season even began. Jenn is allegedly engaged to Devin Strader, a 27-year-old from Houston, Texas, and her runner-up was 31-year-old Marcus Shoberg from Raleigh, North Carolina. However, the events from the finale have yet to unfold onscreen, leaving questions about the outcome of Jenn's season.

Grant Seems Like He's The Bachelor For The Right Reasons

He's Genuinely Looking For Love

While there's always some level of a desire for fame or clout that comes from appearing in The Bachelor franchise, Grant seems like he's going on The Bachelor for the right reasons. He seemed dedicated to finding the right woman on The Bachelorette and opened up to Jenn in ways that endeared him to viewers. However, he and Jenn ultimately weren't suited. With his season of The Bachelor, he'll be able to choose from a large group of women, with one of them hopefully checking off all his boxes.

Grant is genuine, kind, and open, which are important traits for the lead on The Bachelor.

Grant is a Christian and presumably takes marriage seriously, making this journey especially genuine for him. Additionally, he came off as gracious and kind in promotional materials for The Bachelor season 29, adding to his genuine persona. While he didn't find love with Jenn, Grant deserves to find the right woman for him on The Bachelor. I think he's going to be the best Bachelor yet because of his genuine nature and treatment of Jenn on The Bachelorette season 21.
