Ilona Maher recently shared some kind words for her new team, Bristol Bears after the win on Sunday. She made her debut last week during the match against Gloucester-Hartpury where she came on as a substitute.

In an interview following the match, Maher said the atmosphere of the team is welcoming and also said that the Bears were the best team she could have possibly chosen. Additionally, she also mentioned that playing at this level of the Premiership Women's rugby will help her prepare better for the Rugby World Cup scheduled to take place later this year in England. She said (via TNT Sports):

"The team is so welcoming and it's such a cool environment to learn in. It's the best team I could've chosen. I haven't played at this level so to get my feet wet in this has been something that will help me go into a World Cup to be the best player I can be for the USA."

Ilona Maher's Bristol Bears are currently in seventh place in the league table after their victory against Chiefs with 7 wins and 4 defeats in their 11 games. Bears will next up host eighth-placed Leicester Tigers on Sunday (Jan. 19) at Ashton Gate.
